The FIP Constant for Division 1: 2004 - 2023

Presented below is a comprehensive chart, showing the FIP Constant for Division 1 NCAA baseball from 2004 to 2023. This chart is the culmination of extensive data research from all sorts of online sources. These include, but not limited to, each schools baseball homepage website, conference websites, and defunct websites found only on the Internet Archive. This chart will be updated as more seasons pass. I hope that this information helps you in your research. Below the chart will be some information that further explains the data presented.

Because the data for this project was pulled from all over the internet, I found that, at times, some teams did not publish the necessary data to create a fully accurate constant. For example, a team might publish how many total strikeouts, walks, and innings pitched the team accumulated over the season, but may not publish the data for hit-by-pitches or home runs given up. Despite this, the number of teams that had missing/incomplete data was relatively small. The following are the teams with missing/incomplete data along with the years:

*2004: Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Savannah State

*2006: Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

*2007: Texas Southern, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Chicago State, Longwood

*2012: Xavier

To show the work, I have attached a Google Sheets link on each year to show how I found the FIP Constant for each year. If there is a team that is missing, or a stat may not be correct, I do appreciate the feedback.

Again, this chart will be updated periodically. I plan to get the FIP Constant for the 2024 season completed and hope to add earlier seasons past 2004.
